Supported Independent Living in Bendigo and the Loddon.
We have not launched here. That is the first thing worth knowing — and it does not mean there is nothing useful we can do.
Planning, not operating
Gencare is in the planning stage for Bendigo and the Loddon. No office, no local support workers and no home. Supported living is the support most dependent on all three, so it is the one where the gap between what we would like to offer and what we can actually deliver is widest.
What does not depend on any of that is the thinking. Working out whether SIL is genuinely the right support, what level of it the need points to, what your plan would fund, and what housing exists in central Victoria — all of that is coordination, and coordination is available here now.
That is worth more than it sounds. A great many people spend a year looking at houses before establishing what support they actually need, and end up with a home that does not suit the arrangement. Doing it the other way round is most of what makes supported living work.
What supported independent living in Bendigo & Loddon actually looks like
Get the thinking done
What the need actually is, before the housing search. Doing it in that order saves people the most time.
Housing across central Victoria
What exists in Bendigo, Castlemaine, Kyneton and further north — including options run by other providers.
First in line at launch
People we already coordinate for are matched first when a local team starts. That is the concrete benefit of registering.
Most people look for the house first. Working out the support first is what stops the house being wrong.
Where SIL with Gencare in Bendigo actually stands
This is a planning-stage region and SIL is the support most affected by that. Anything less than a plain list here would be misleading.
What can start now
- Work out whether SIL is genuinely the right support for the situation
- Review your plan and tell you what supported living funding it contains
- Help you weigh housing options across Bendigo and the Loddon, including other providers’ homes
- Register your interest so you are contacted the moment local supports go live
What we cannot do yet
- Provide SIL support in Bendigo or the Loddon — we have no local team here
- Offer you a Gencare home; every home we run is in Melbourne’s west
- Give you a launch date, because we will not commit to one we might miss

Supported Independent Living in Bendigo & Loddon, answered
No. We are in the planning stage for Bendigo and the Loddon — no local team, no office, no home. SIL depends on all three. What we can do now is the coordination around it, and tell you honestly when the answer is to go with a provider who is already operating here.
Only if the coordination is genuinely useful to you, and often it is. Establishing what support you need, what your plan funds and what housing exists is real work that has to happen regardless of who eventually delivers the support. If you would rather wait until we launch, that is a completely reasonable decision.
We will not give you a date. We have missed none so far because we have not promised any, and that is deliberate — a launch date that slips is worse than no date for someone planning their life around it. Registering means you hear first, and that is the honest extent of what we can offer.
Two things, both real. It puts you first in line for matching when a local team starts, because we already know your situation. And it tells us where in the region the demand actually is, which is genuinely how we decide where to begin. There is no cost and no obligation.
