Accessibility Statement

Built to work for everyone.

A website about disability support should be one of the most accessible places on the web. Here’s how we’ve designed this one — and how to tell us when we can do better.

Our commitment

Accessibility isn’t a feature we bolt on — it’s the point. We design and build this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we keep improving as we learn.

02

Three reading modes

Use the accessibility control in the corner of any page to switch how the site feels. Your choice is remembered:

  • Calm — our default. Gentle, ambient motion and full Aurora depth.
  • Focus — flattens distractions and dials back motion for easier reading and concentration.
  • Sensory-Friendly — removes animation and ambient effects for a quiet, still experience.

We also respect your device’s “reduce motion”setting — if it’s on, ambient motion is switched off automatically.

03

What we’ve built in

  • full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element;
  • semantic structure and ARIA labels so screen readers can describe the page;
  • colour and text contrast that targets WCAG AA, with cool, low-glare tones;
  • text that reflows and stays readable when you zoom or use a small screen;
  • form fields with real labels and clear, announced error messages;
  • large, comfortable touch targets on mobile.
04

Known limitations

We’re honest about where we’re still improving. Some embedded third-party content and older documents may not yet fully meet our standard. If you hit a barrier, tell us — we treat accessibility issues as priority fixes and we’ll provide the information you need in another format in the meantime.

05

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use, we want to know. Contact us and we’ll work with you to fix it and to get you what you need straight away:

If you’d like support to make contact, an advocate or family member is welcome to reach out on your behalf.

06

Conformance status

This website partially conformsto WCAG 2.1 Level AA — “partially” because some content is still being brought fully up to standard. We review accessibility as part of every release and update this statement as things change.
