The barrier you live inside

When the hardest part of the day is your own home.

A step you cannot manage. A bathroom that is not safe. A doorway a wheelchair will not fit. For too many people, the biggest barrier to independence is not out in the world — it is the home they live in every single day.

It is exhausting, and it chips away at more than convenience. It costs safety, dignity and confidence, and it quietly makes a person dependent on others for things they could do themselves.

The right modifications change that completely. A home engineered around you removes those barriers so thoroughly that you stop noticing them — and your energy goes back into living.

The right change to a doorway can hand back a freedom the wrong one quietly took away.
From a grab rail to a full fit-out

Every scale of change, done right.

Modifications range from the simple to the structural. Whatever your home needs, we handle it to standard.

Minor

Simple, high-impact changes

Grab rails, handrails, ramps, lever taps, non-slip surfaces — small changes that make a big difference to safety.

Moderate

Fixtures & single rooms

Modified bathroom fixtures, a widened doorway, accessible fittings — targeted changes to the spaces that matter most.

Major

Full room transformations

A fully accessible bathroom or kitchen, wheel-in showers, lowered benches — reworking a space around how you live.

Complex

Structural modifications

Structural changes, ceiling-hoist provision, significant reconfiguration — engineered for high or complex needs.

How it happens

Four clear steps, fully coordinated.

We manage the whole process — so you get a home that fits, without the headache of managing trades and paperwork.

Step 1

OT assessment

An occupational therapist assesses your needs and your home, and recommends the right modifications.

Step 2

Design & quotes

The modifications are designed to suit your home and needs, and quoted by appropriate trades.

Step 3

Build, to standard

Once approved, the work is delivered safely and compliantly by the right professionals.

Step 4

Sign-off & settle in

The work is checked and signed off — and you settle into a home that finally fits.

Home modifications are likely a good fit if…

  • Your current home creates barriers to access or safety.
  • The right changes would let you stay where you are.
  • You need assessed, compliant modifications due to your disability.
  • You want to remove daily barriers and regain independence at home.

Something else may suit if…

  • Your needs require a purpose-built home — see Specialist Disability Accommodation.
  • You need help finding a new home — see Accommodation Assistance.
  • You mainly need support with daily tasks — see Daily Living & Personal Care.
Funding, without the fog

How home modifications are funded

Home modifications are funded under Capital Supports in your NDIS plan, where they are reasonable and necessary due to your disability. Here is how it works.

Funded under: Capital Supports (Home Modifications) in your NDIS plan.

Requires: An occupational therapy assessment, and quotes for the work.

Minor vs complex: Minor mods are simpler to approve; complex/structural mods need more assessment and design.

We coordinate: The whole process — assessment, design, quotes and build — so you are not left juggling it.
