Eastern Melbourne

Real, local support across Eastern Melbourne.

The east has more established disability and health infrastructure than almost anywhere else in Melbourne. Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah, a dense allied health sector, and long-running community organisations that have been part of these suburbs for decades. For a participant that is genuinely good news — there is a lot to work with. It also means a crowded, complicated service landscape, which is exactly the situation Support Coordination exists for.

Geographically it runs a long way. The inner east — Hawthorn, Camberwell, Balwyn — is close-in, well served by the Belgrave and Lilydale lines and walkable in patches. Past Blackburn and Nunawading it becomes properly suburban, and out around Croydon and the foot of the Dandenongs it starts to feel semi-regional, with the same travel realities that come with that.

Housing here is mostly detached homes on decent blocks, often with a bit of age to them. That matters for home modifications, for whether supported living is workable in a place someone already owns or rents, and for the kinds of goals people set — gardens, workshops, getting out into the hills.

On the ground here

What support in Eastern Melbourne really looks like

A crowded service landscape

More providers and allied health than almost anywhere in Melbourne. Knowing which are worth your plan is the whole point of coordination.

Box Hill and Maroondah

Established hospital and community health networks, which makes coordinating appointments and discharge more straightforward here.

Detached homes, older stock

Space to modify and room for support to happen at home — but often houses that need work to be genuinely accessible.

Inner east to the hills

From walkable Camberwell to semi-regional Croydon. We roster around which end of the east you are actually in.

Having many options is only an advantage if someone helps you tell them apart.

How this starts

Getting started in Eastern Melbourne

  1. Tell us where you are

Your suburb, and roughly what you are looking for. That is enough for us to know whether we can help in Eastern Melbourne.

  2. A real person calls back

Within about 2 hours, in business hours. Not a form response — someone who can answer questions.

  3. A free Meet & Greet

At home, somewhere neutral, or over video. No commitment, and no pressure to decide on the day.

  4. You decide what happens

If we are the right fit, we build the support around you. If we are not, we will say so.

Eastern Melbourne questions

Support in Eastern Melbourne, answered

The ones we name are Hawthorn, Camberwell and Malvern in the inner east, and Box Hill, Ringwood and Boronia further out. We have kept it to suburbs our coverage is on the record for rather than listing the whole eastern half of Melbourne. If you are somewhere else in the east, or further out toward Lilydale and the hills, ask us and we will be straight about what we can sustain there.

That is a fair question, and choice is genuinely a good thing. What we offer is coordination that treats the crowded eastern service landscape as an advantage rather than a maze, and support workers matched to you rather than allocated by whoever has a gap in the roster. If another provider is a better fit for what you need, we would rather tell you that early.

Yes. A lot of eastern housing is detached and roomy but was built long before anyone thought about step-free access. We can help you work through home modifications, what your plan can fund, and what is realistic in a rental versus a home you own — and coordinate the occupational therapy that has to come first.

Yes. We coordinate supports around appointments and hospital discharge across the eastern health services, including Box Hill and Maroondah. Tell us if a discharge date is approaching — that changes how quickly we need to move.

No. Our own SIL homes are all in Melbourne’s west. In the east we coordinate supported living rather than provide the house — helping you look at options, think through housemates, and arrange the support that goes inside the home, including where the home belongs to another provider.

Yes. Choice of provider is yours under the NDIS. Check the notice period in your current service agreement and we will handle coordinating the handover so your supports carry on without a gap.
