More than tidiness

When keeping clean is genuinely beyond you.

For most people, a bit of cleaning is a chore. But when a disability makes it hard or unsafe, an unclean home becomes something much bigger — a real risk to health, a knock to dignity, and a quiet, constant source of stress.

Dust and grime affect breathing and infection risk. A cluttered floor is a fall waiting to happen. And a home that has got away from you can weigh on your mood and self-esteem every single day.

We take that off your shoulders. A clean, healthy, calm home — handled reliably, without judgement — so your space supports you instead of stressing you.

A clean home is not about impressing anyone. It is about being healthy, safe and at peace where you live.

Funding, without the fog

How cleaning support is funded

Cleaning can be funded from your Core Supports where it relates to your disability. Here is the plain-English version.

Funded from: Core Supports — assistance with household tasks.

Flexible: A weekly or fortnightly clean, or a one-off deep clean.

Same person: We protect continuity — a trusted, familiar person each time.

We help you: Understand what your plan covers and set a schedule that suits.

Good questions

Household Cleaning, answered

A thorough clean of your home — kitchen, bathroom, floors, living areas and bedrooms — covering surfaces, appliances, dusting, vacuuming and mopping. We can provide a regular clean on a schedule that suits you, or a bigger deep or spring clean when it is needed.

Wherever possible, yes. We protect continuity so you have a trusted, familiar and screened person in your home — someone who gets to know your space and your preferences.

Household Cleaning is focused specifically on cleaning. Household Tasks is broader — it also covers laundry, meals, shopping and running the home. If you need more than cleaning, Household Tasks may suit you better, and many people combine them.

Cleaning can be funded from your Core Supports budget where it relates to your disability. We help you understand what your plan covers and set up a schedule that works for you.

We will sort this out with you at your Meet & Greet. Many people prefer we use their own products — especially where allergies, sensitivities or particular surfaces are involved — and we are happy to work with whatever suits your home best.

Yes. As well as a regular weekly or fortnightly clean, we can do a one-off deep or spring clean — for example after illness, before an event, or when things have simply got on top of you.

Gencare is based in the west of Melbourne and supports participants across Victoria, with our footprint expanding into Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and regional areas. Reach out and we will confirm what is available in your area.

Cleaning is funded from Core Supports where it relates to your disability — that is the part that matters. The NDIS funds cleaning because a disability makes it unsafe or unmanageable for you to do, not as a general household convenience. If that describes your situation, it is usually available; we can help you check your plan and set it up.
