MTA at Deanside can be arranged where a bed is free and your plan funds it. It depends on a confirmed long-term destination, so the first conversation is usually about what you are waiting for and how firm the date is — and availability changes, so call rather than assume.
MTA, STA and SIL — three things people are told are the same
Short-Term Accommodation is a break, usually up to 14 days, funded for respite. Medium-Term Accommodation is a place to live for up to around 90 days while a confirmed long-term home becomes available. Supported Independent Living is the ongoing support in whatever home you end up in. They are separate line items and they answer different questions.
The distinction matters because MTA is only funded where there is a long-term home to be waiting for. If nothing is confirmed, the honest conversation is about finding that first — and we would rather have it early than move someone into a temporary arrangement with nothing at the other end.

The NDIS generally funds MTA for up to around 90 days, on the basis that a long-term home has been confirmed and is simply not ready. If the wait is likely to run considerably longer than that, it is worth talking about early, because the answer may be a different arrangement rather than an extension.
Then the plan changes and we work it out with you rather than handing you a notice period. This is exactly why we ask about the long-term destination up front — so that if it collapses, it is a known risk we are already thinking about rather than a surprise for everyone.

MTA funds the accommodation itself. The support you receive while you are there is usually funded from your other supports, which is a distinction plan managers know well and most participants have never had explained. We will go through exactly which of your budgets pays for what before anything starts.
